BASIC FUNCTION: Provide direct support to programming staff and assist with the creation, coordination, and implementation of a variety of special events and outreach programs aimed at engaging our diverse group of stakeholders. Assist with the development and implementation of marketing for these engagement opportunities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the advising of the Student Alumni Association and management of SAA programs such as the Rambassador Program and Dinner with 12 Strangers. The Student Alumni Association is a student organization which strives to foster a sense of pride and tradition in the University by generating spirit among the student body, providing information about the Alumni Association to current students, and keeping the Alumni Association aware of developments on campus, which affect student perception of the University.
- Manage the Rhody Mascot Program which includes the selection, training, and supervision of students serving as Rhody the Ram.
- Assist and/or plan, coordinate, and implement the future alumni program which focuses on engaging current students to cultivate a culture of engagement as alumni.
- Assist and/or plan, coordinate, and implement the young alumni program which focuses on engaging undergraduate alumni who have graduated in the past ten years.
- Assist in the coordination of the Alumni Association’s social media.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of several of the Alumni Association’s major special events and programs that meaningfully engage our growing and diverse population of over 123,000 alumni. Including, but is not limited to: Homecoming, Big Chill Weekend, the Golf Tournament, Golden Grad Weekend, and 50th Reunion Weekend.
- Engage with diverse constituents through events, programs, and councils such as the Alumni of Color Network, Women’s Council, and LGBTIQ2.
