DELTA SIGMA CHAPTER of SIGMA CHI FRATERNITY is the 2017, URI Greek Life, Leadership Award-winning Fraternity located on the picturesque campus of The University of Rhode Island

The National Order of SIGMA CHI was first established in 1855, and remains one of the oldest and largest fraternities in the country. The Position

We’re looking for an ASSISTANT HOUSE DIRECTOR to reside with the brothers and perform duties comparable to a dormitory, Resident Advisor with additional responsibilities overseen by you and our Senior House Director, who lives near campus. The position is ultimately responsible to the Sigma Chi URI Alumni Corporation (House Corporation) who owns and has oversight for the physical property of the Chapter House, kitchen, and all associated real estate.

  • Strong Leadership Skills
  • Facilities’ Supervision (handy tool skills a plus)
  • Strong Communication Skills, (both oral and written)
  • Mentoring/Counseling/Role Modeling Behaviors in keeping with the SIGMA CHI Expectations
  • Administrative/Organizational Skills
  • Competent Technology Skills
  • References (Past Employment and Character)

The Location:

  • The URI campus is centrally located within a 20-mile radius of the capital city, Providence, RI; scenic Newport, RI; rail and air transportation; and 10 minutes to the beach for your recreational enjoyment.
  • RIPTA (Rhode Island Public Transit Authority) drop station at our doorstep provides cost-free, and frequent access to all sites on campus including athletic complex and gyms and the Union and Emporium.
  • Nearby RIPTA metro transits to remote campus sites for commuting to your extended academic resources.
